Testimonial Tuesday

I started watching this determined to not appreciate it, but this girl's got some good spirit.

Monday Minutiae

It's ironic that the anniversary of George's death would fall on "Monday Minutiae", as George always felt that human lives were really just a blip on the radar - short, temporary, just a stop along the road to someplace better.

I was going to call this entry "Mournful Monday" just this once, but George would have hated that. He embraced his death and was ready for it. He would want us to feel at peace with it too.

Thought for Thursday

This seemed like a good song for Thanksgiving, and the acoustic demo is gorgeous..

"if not for you, my sky would fall.."

Thought for Thursday

"Love one another."

These were George's last words. They may seem cliche, but the words we scoff at and label as idealistic hippie notions really are the words that speak the truth. It doesn't *have* to be a cliche. It doesn't *have* to be idealistic. If each person just decided that they would live their life as peacefully as possible, imagine what the world could be like. It's really quite incredible, the difference one person can make.

Whatsoever Wednesday

A few times today, I have been uncomfortably reminded that sometimes, this is the last moment we have. Everyone knows, at least intellectually, that the moment we are currently experiencing is the only moment we truly have, but we often fail to grasp that it could be the LAST one we ever get. If this were your last moment on earth, would you have regrets? I'm not saying you should run out and go bungee jumping. I'm not urging you to quit your job and travel the world. But don't forget to tell your kids you love them at bedtime and don't let anger be the last thing you feel towards the person you lay down next to each night.

Sex-Appeal Saturday

I'm not a huge fan of hairs in the sink, but I'd make an exception for George.

this isn't a superfluous picture being used simply to exploit George in his underwear.. I think he's about to shave!

see?!

Thought for Thursday

Because today has just been one of those days when I desperately need quiet inside my head and beads between my fingers.

'Namah Parvati Pataye Hare Hare Mahadev
Namah Parvati Pataye Hare Hare
Namah Parvati Pataye Hare Hare

Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva
Hare Hare Hare Hare Mahadeva
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva

Namah Parvati Pataye Hare Hare
Namah Parvati Pataye Hare Hare
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva
Shiva Shiva Shankara Mahadeva'

(from Brainwashed, a most beautiful ending of the song)

It's Johnny's Birthday..

Sex-Appeal Saturday has been put on hold due to the fact that today would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday. He is so greatly missed.

Sex-Appeal Saturday!

This song gives me impure thoughts.

And here is an alternate acoustic version that is quite beautiful:

Whatsoever Wednesday

I just love this interview that George Harrison did for the Dick Cavett show. His humor is so subtle, almost shy, but very very funny. I would have loved to have just sat around with him, talking.

Fretful Friday

I usually am hesitant to post blog entries about the Beatles "biggest hits", etc. and I really have been wanting lately to do more entries on their solo work. But every time I watch George playing Here Comes the Sun at the Concert for Bangladesh, I am in awe of his beautiful fingerwork. It's the perfect song for Fretful Friday. Also.. the smile at the beginning when he starts to play and the crowd starts cheering.. it melts me.

Pictorial tribute to George's Hindu/Hare Krishna family, whom he loved so dearly:
